Youth Participation Event - Crosby Lakeside

On Tuesday 21st March , a small group of Year 9 and 10 students took part in the SEND Young Person's Youth Conference at Crosby Lakeside. The day's focus was preparation for adulthood, with sessions on Employment/Education, Friends, Relationships, Independent Living and Good Health.

Pupils took part in various activities throughout the day . There were talks from Southport College and Hugh Baird College about the transition from High School. Pupils had the opportunity to voice any concerns or worries about the options and career choices available after school and got some really useful advice. This was followed by talks from Alder Hey and Edge Hill University. Pupils also had a session with Sefton's Buddy Up service; a mentoring and befriending project which provides fun social opportunities designed to promote confidence and independence in young people with additional needs.

All in all, it was a great day and the children were a fantastic representatives for our school.
