A Magical Time for Year 7

Over the course of 3 days, almost all of year 7 went on a trip to the most magical venue of all - the Harry Potter Studios. Our pupils had the most amazing time, with many dressing up in their 'house' colours or costumes.

Upon arrival at the Watford based studios, pupils were issued with their Harry Potter themed passports and there were lots of photo opportunities with the great chess pieces from the first film.

Once inside, the tour began with an exciting cinema experience in which we learned about how the novel grew into the biggest literary   phenomenon of all time.

Then came perhaps the most exciting moment of all - entering The Great Hall. On the second day, two of our pupils, Jack and Olivia, had the honour of opening the huge oak doors into the hall.

The pupils then had the afternoon to explore all the familiar features of those wonderful films - Hagrid's cottage, Gryffindor Common Room, the Forbidden Forest, the Hogwarts Express, Privet Drive as well as finding out all the behind-the-scenes secrets about how the magic of the books was brought to life.

After a well-deserved Butterbeer break, we headed for the finale of the tour - a breathtaking model of Hogwarts.

Of course, no visit is complete without a spot of shopping in the gift shop where many souvenirs were bought. After a long but fascinating day, we returned home filled with the magic of the Harry Potter experience!
