Year 7 Welcome Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
On Thursday 16th October, our Year 7 pupils gathered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for their beautiful Welcome Mass, celebrated by Fr Derek Lloyd, our new parish priest for St. Mary’s and St William of York.
On the Feast of St. Margaret Mary, Fr Derek shared her inspiring devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, helping our pupils connect deeply with the meaning of the day.
The pupils truly raised the roof with their joyful singing — even bravely tackling Goodall’s “The Lord is My Shepherd” for the psalm! They also prepared heartfelt bidding prayers, making the celebration even more personal and meaningful.
Huge thanks to the entire Year 7 team for making this such a special occasion. A special shout-out to Mrs Pellow, whose passion for music shone through as she taught the hymns and inspired our young singers.
