I hope you are all well and safe.
Once again, thank you all for your support, patience and feedback this term. The children have been amazing and we have all been so impressed with how they (and you) have adapted to the new ways of working and coped with remote learning on Teams whilst remaining so positive and cheerful (well, for most of the time!). I have a few more updates in preparation for next term.
This week’s updates include:
Year 11 & 13 Reports
Your child has a copy of their report and they were sent home yesterday. They are also accessible through the MyEd App.
Phased return to school in January
Pupils in Years 11 & 13
- Timetabled lessons in school as normal from Monday 4th January.
Pupils in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12
- Pupils will not return to school until Monday 11th January, unless they are vulnerable children or children of key workers.
- From Monday 4th January - Friday 8th January, all Years 7-10 and Year 12 pupils will have their lessons delivered online remotely through our Microsoft Teams platform. Your child should remain at home and work on Teams. Their teachers will be on-line for your child’s lesson and they should follow their normal timetable and timings.
Vulnerable and Key Worker children
Yesterday’s survey for key workers was to give us an indication of how many key worker children may return on the 4th January to help us with our planning. If you are still undecided, or are unsure what you will do, don’t worry, we can be as flexible as you need us to be. Please let us know if you have changed your mind so that we know who to expect in school on the 4th. All children identified as vulnerable will have received a call from school today.

COVID testing arrangements
As you may have heard in the news, schools will play an increased part in COVID testing from January. I have a webinar later today and should know more then. I’ll inform you of any further developments when we return in January.
If your child tests positive or there is a positive case in your household, please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org . Use this address no matter what day/time of day and please include any details such as when your child started to have symptoms and who their friends/close contacts are in school, on the bus etc. This will help us alert anyone who may be affected.
I’ll keep you informed as soon as I can if the government make any more announcements over the Christmas break but you will probably hear it the same time as we do, when it’s announced on the news.
On behalf of all the staff, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a very merry and peaceful Christmas, and the very best for a happy New Year.
Best wishes and God Bless,
