I hope you are all well and safe.
This week’s updates include:
End of term arrangements (Week A)
Monday 14th Christmas themed ‘Merry Monday’
Pupils can wear something Christmassy such as a Christmas jumper, earrings, hair bands, tinsel, mask etc. There will also be a ‘walk for hope’ for Years 7-11, weather permitting. During the walk there will be a collection for the Whitechapel Centre, a Liverpool based homeless charity. Pupils can wear their PE kits (as well as something Christmassy) and I would recommend a warm coat. The weather is supposed to be nice but cold.
Walk for hope: Year 11 Period 1; Y10 Period 2; Y9 Period 3; Y8 Period 4; Y7 Period 5.
Lessons as normal. This is a backup day for the ‘walk for hope’ is case of poor weather on Monday.
Wednesday 16th Christmas Dinner Day
Each year group will have an extended festive lunch time.
Normal timetable Periods 1-3. Progress Leaders will be organising some Christmas based activities for their year groups during Periods 4 & 5. Pupils will be based in their form classes for these lessons. Years 11, 12 & 13 finish for Christmas at 3pm.
Pupils will be based in their form classes. Activities will include: Christmas Collective Worship, Headteacher assembly and form tutor time/Christmas activities.
Year 11 will remain at home and have ‘Study Skills’ sessions provided remotely by Elevate Education (see letter sent earlier today).
Years 8, 9 & 10 finish at 12.00.
Year 7 finish at 12.15.
Spring term will start for all pupils on Monday 4th January 2021 (week B).
GCSE and A level exam dates May/July 2021
GCSE exams will run from Monday 24th May 2021 to Friday 2nd July 2021.
A level exams will run from Monday 7th June to Friday 2nd July 2021.
School Reports and parent’s evenings
Year 11 & 13 will receive their reports next week and all other year groups will receive their reports in January. We are going to use the ‘School Cloud’ software to host parents evenings next year. This will mean that you can ‘meet’ your child’s teachers remotely to discuss their progress. I’ll have more information and dates for you when we return in the new year.
If your child tests positive or there is a positive case in your household, please email me on email@example.com . Use this address no matter what day/time of day and please include any details such as when your child started to have symptoms and who their friends/close contacts are in school, on the bus etc. This will help us alert anyone who may be affected and give other parents time to make arrangements.
Foodbank and Gift collections for Christmas
Thank you so much for your kindness and donations. Today we delivered lots of food and gift hampers to families and charities in our community. A special thank you to Silcox Villa Junior Football Club for their generosity and the beautiful gift hampers that they donated.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe,
