2017 - Another impressive set of results in the Sixth Form

2017 A Level Students

  • 100% pass rate in all subjects

  • Over 56% of all the grades achieved were at A*/A or Distinction*/Distinction

  • Over 36% of all grades achieved were at A* or Distinction*

  • Average grade was a B

Once again we are delighted with this year’s achievements with a 100% pass rate in all subjects and over 56% of all the grades achieved were at A*/A or Distinction*/Distinction.  There have been many strong individual performances across the ability range and the vast majority of students have been accepted onto a university course of their choice or achieved the grades they needed for their chosen career. 

Some of our individual student successes: 

  • Tegan Philips gained 2 Distinction*’s, a Distinction and an A in her Extended Project and is off to Edge Hill University to study Drama.

  • Laura Mepham gained 2 Distinction*’s, a Distinction and a C in her A level English and is off to Edge Hill University studying Social Work.

  • Adam Cook achieved 2 Distinction*’s, and a Distinction. He is off to Edge Hill to study PE, School Sport Teacher Training.

  • Olivia Halewood achieved an A* in Math’s, A in Biology, and B’s in Chemistry and Physics. She is starting an Accountancy Apprenticeship.

  • Daniel Wall gained a C in Physics and 2 Distinction*’s and he is going to The University of Liverpool to study Artificial Intelligence.

  • Rebecca Miller gained an A* in her Extended Project, B in English, C in History and a B in Psychology. She is off to Edge Hill University to study Politics.

  • Alex Brimage achieved an A in PE and his EPQ and grade B's in Biology and Maths. Good luck at Loughborough University.

  • Liam Panton and Liam Dormer both achieved A’s in their AS results. Well done boys, See you next year.

The results are a reflection of the hard work and commitment of students and staff underpinned by great support from parents. We would like to congratulate all our students and offer them our very best wishes for the future.

Another impressive set of GCSE results for Holy Family

2017 GCSE results

  • Another increase in the percentage of students achieving A*-C (9-4) grades at GCSE.

  • More students achieving a pass grade in Maths and in English.

  • Nearly 80% of students achieving a pass grade in English.

  • Over 75% of students achieving a pass grade in Maths.

  • Across all subjects, 75% of all grades at A*-C (9-4) and over 26% of all grades at A* or A (9-7).

We are delighted with this year’s examination results which have improved, once again, on the previous year.  There have been many outstanding individual achievements across a wide range of subjects and the students and their families can be extremely proud.  The results are a reflection of the hard work and commitment of both students and staff, underpinned by great support from parents.  We wish them every success in the future and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our Sixth Form.

Some of our individual student successes:

  • Congratulations to Jack who gained two Grade 9’s, a Grade 8, four A*’s and two A’s.  He is looking forward to returning into sixth form.

  • Ciaran achieved a grade 9 and 8 in English and Maths, in addition to four A*’s and two A’s.

  • Jodie, Minna, Faye and Rebecca are really pleased with their great results.  This included Jodie gaining two Grade 9’s in English.

  • Mitchell did really well with his results.  We wish him good luck as he continues to Wigan Athletic Football Club.  We hope his football career goes well in addition to his Sports Studies.
